DIVING IN EL MUELLITO Y LA PLAYA, LANZAROTE

A dive for all tastes and levels
El muellito y la playa map
The surroundings of El Muellito and the two breakwaters of Playa Chica form a magical place to enjoy submerged both day and night. It is the perfect place to observe how the fauna changes after sunset. This shallow dive is privileged to do “snorkel”, baptisms or the first initiation practices; even experienced people enjoy it after raids on deeper walls.

From land or from a boat, this area allows you to do more than 10 different routes of all levels. For those who want to take a walk with glasses and tube, receive a baptism (test immersion) or even a night dive, this place is ideal for the abundant life that is concentrated in Playa Chica and near the shore to El Muellito.

With the sunlight, the banks of mullets, salemas, breams, galanas, blacksmiths, the colorful pejeverdes and the fulas almost manage to hypnotize us. A careful look at the rocks will allow us to discover colorful sea slugs such as the species Hypselodoris picta or the harlequin crab.

During the night, the sand hosts a fauna that has nothing to do with the one that appears during the day. The night beach becomes a real garden, full of anemones with all kinds of animals such as alfonsitos, octopuses or curiosities like Fabians, Balearic congers and comb stars. When the sun goes down, most of the fish sleep so it is the turn of the invertebrates. Draws attention to the narwhal shrimp that rise from the depths to feed, the spotted shrimp or the harlequin crab.
